This project was to demolish the existing family home and totally replace and rebuild with a contemporary designed large dormer bungalow.

Our design team worked closely with both the client, Architect and builders to overcome construction problems on site. Many of the original features we redesigned on site to give a better and more aesthetically pleasing results whilst not to compromise the design, build quality or structural safety.

The timber frame was built inside out with Diffutherm insulated panels added to the exterior. These are 1M2 woodfibre insulated boards that fix to the external shell of the timber frame and offer a great thermal properties. This system requires no other form of external skin as in traditional timber frame construction. The external woodfibre boards are then rendered  giving a high performance unbridged thermal shell that is a fully breathable construction.
